The ECU game watching party starts at 9a this Saturday, 9/22. Yes, 9a!!!!!!!!!!! This game was originally scheduled for 12:30p.

If you have not made it to a party yet, please do so ASAP! We need your input and participation. We have had ten (10) new faces at the parties so far this year! At every game you can win free prizes. The food is good and the beer is cold! Not to mention, the company is top notch. So what are you waiting for? See you soon and Let’s Gooooooooooo Mountaineers!!!!!!!!

We will again be hosting game watching parties for the 2007 Mountaineer Football Season for every televised game at Sierra Gold. Visit our event page for more information about the location.

Chapter Meeting

Glad to see all of you at the game watching parties. I’m thrilled with the interest and success of the chapter in such a short time. I’d like to meet this Thursday, 10/26 at 6pm. The main focus of the meeting will be to plan a holiday dinner for the Chapter and consider a road trip to the potential bowl game.

Alert: Meeting Location Change

Mael Glennon, Chapter member, has offered his office as a meeting place because the normal meeting location is not available. I think this will be a better location than Sierra Gold. It is more formal with a board room table.

Therefore, we will meet at 7884 W. Sahara Ave. This is on Sahara between Buffalo and Cimarron. The office is located on the north side of Sahara (right side when travelling west). Look for the big Farmer’s Insurance sign.

Mississippi Game not Televised

WVU has announced that the Mississippi State game, 10/07/06, will not be televised on ESPN or anywhere. The overall control of the game rested with the SEC and they opted not to allow this game to be broadcast.

The next game watching event at Sierra Gold will not be until 10/14/06.

August Chapter Meeting

The next chapter meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 6:30 PM at Las Vegas Events. This meeting will serve as a wrap=up for the membership drive and a kick-off for the football season. All new members are welcome to attend. Parents Club BBQ

The chapter Treasurer, Dave Miller, and his wife have graciously invited all WVU Southern Nevada Alumni Chapter members to join them this Sunday, August 13 to send off these students for the Fall 2006 semester. Please see the flyer for more information on this event.

Inaugural Membership Drive Event

We are proud to announce our inaugural membership drive event. The event will take place Friday, July 21, 2006 at Rhodes Ranch Golf Club from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. WVU Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Maker has graciously agreed to be our first special guest speaker.

We will be hosting a silent auction and raffle including WVU memorabilia and other specials items.

The menu will consist of a light dinner including tossed and pasta salads, meats and cheeses, fresh bread, cookies, water, iced tea and coffee.

Event admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. You may RSVP by emailing membership@nvmountaineers.org and visiting our events page for more information including the address to mail your admission.
